memento.
i took such a long, long time to grow up. and i don't think i'm all grown up now cos i'm still childish and noisy and annoying.. right, reck? but anyways, i was caught up in the teletubbies hype. hehe, no, seriously. my granny bought me and my sis some teletubbies tee and i wore it a LOT. i even asked my mum to get me the teletubbies plushies for my birthday. it was a stupid fascination, kay. it was in that "era" when i was full of envy for my cousins who got the whole collection of the teletubbies talking toy. it sounds silly, yeah.. but i was just cute that way. shutupidon'tcarewhatyousay. :p
anywho, it was also at that period of time that i knew and grew attached to these group of kids (yup, i'm not lying. well, one of em was my age anyways, e rest were her lil cuzzies) and we became playground buddies. we would splash our feet in the dirty murky water (breeding ground for malaria) while swinging on the swing. it was dirty, but fun. and now that i think about it.. ew, disgusting. the water was all black after the rain. also, more often than not, we'd jump off the swing while in mid air.. :D back on track now, i would rush off home after "ngaji" to change into my (favourite tee was one with a calvin & hobbes comic strip at the back) tee and shorts/pants (favourite one was a pair of red "track pants") and rush off down to play at the playground.
it got to a point that i'd sit on top of my sofa and stare sadly out the window, across the park when i've got a fever and mum just refuses to let me out. also, my endless callings to their granny's house (my neighbour) to ask for them kinda got on her nerves i think. and then all of a sudden one of em had to move to bukit batok. and then we never really met up anymore. which was kinda sad.
but, around an hour ago, my sis told me that a girl called "---" approached her in school and asked whether she has a sister named "fizah". and that girl is in sec 1 and was one of those kids i was talking about, and she still remembers me after... more than 8 years? and she was still so young back then. i was very surprised, really. so actually, this whole post is about a long lost "friend" i've never really thought about for a long long time... up till today.
